5-Days to Go
Just 5-days before my surgery. I am praying that God lets "this cup pass from me", but regardless of the flesh, I am healed already and I am excited for the future.
My video blog for today:
Robert B. Haase’s public speaking career was temporarily derailed when he was told he would lose half of his tongue to save his life. On October 3, 2013, Robert had his 13th tongue cancer surgery, known as a "hemiglossectomy", removing the entire left half of his tongue. Robert released his book, Not What You Had Planned: Finding Strength and Hope in the Storms of Adversity, in July 2020. Robert is available for public speaking engagements and can be contacted by email.
My prayers are with you. My Dad is a 28 year cancer survivor and lost his voice box. He has a hole in his neck he breathes through and my children never got to hear how beautiful he could whistle, but they have so very many years of other fun times that they have had with 'Gramps' It changes you but you will get through this and realize you are so much more than a voice. My Dad has his tongue but did have many months of radiation. That is when the food tasted awful. He had to learn to smell the food to get back most of his taste as his airway no longer connects to his mouth.

I know that there are great things ahead in your future. You will still have your talent of teaching and connecting with people.
Thank you so much for sharing.
God bless you.
